With all the heavy new cars participating, the domestic auto market is more "noisy" than before. At this year’s Shanghai Auto Show, the new i5 also appeared in the Roewe booth of SAIC. The design theme of the new i5 is "trendy technology", and the "bucket arch" design in the ancient buildings of China is integrated into it.

　　In terms of appearance, the front face of the new i5 adopts a brand-new parameterized Ronglin grille, which is a brand-new style quoted after Roewe iMAX8 and other models. Ronglin grille does not pursue a large size like the old grille. While highlighting the details, the design sense becomes more refined. The bright black parametric texture is matched with the layered shape, and the overall visual effect is better, compounding the aesthetics of young people nowadays. The red and black logo in the middle of the grille has also been replaced with a more modern black, white and gray color scheme. Headlights are more long and narrow in shape, and LED light sources are used for far and near lights. If they are high-profile models, headlights are also equipped with adaptive far and near light switching function.

　　Compared with the old models, the side of the car body has little change. The design of double waistline and flowing lines add light and shadow effect to the side of the new i5 car body. The brand-new double five-spoke wheels also enhance the sense of movement. The original factory equipped the new i5 with silent tires, and the front and rear tires were 205/55 R16. Although the wheel hub size was only 16 inches, the length and wheelbase of the new i5 still followed the golden section, so the visual effect on the side of the car body was very harmonious.

　　The rear of the new i5 is also modified in details, adopting the popular split taillight design, and the middle is connected by a penetrating chrome strip, which echoes the front of the car. In order to better highlight the sporty feeling of the new i5, after two large-size scheduling are designed in the fog light area of the rear bumper, a diffuser structure is added at the lower edge of the rear bumper. In terms of body size, the length, width and height of the new i5 are 4607/1818/1489mm and the wheelbase is 2680mm.

　　The new i5 interior styling changes can be described as brand-new. The brand-new Cosmic Star Rain cockpit adopts an asymmetric design. The entire center console is decorated with silver plaques, and the details are decorated with fluorescent green. The 10.25-inch suspended central control panel is equipped with zebra VENUS 1.0 interactive system, which has surpassed its peers in terms of interaction and Zhilian, and is at the leading level in the industry.

SAIC Roewe’s New i5 Engine

　　In terms of power, the new i5 still uses a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine code-named 15S4C. Even so, the book data of this 1.5L four-cylinder engine is still beautiful, with a maximum output of 88kW and a maximum torque of 150N·m, which is matched with a CVT gearbox focusing on ride comfort.
